DEANE OGDEN is an American drummer, music producer, and songwriter.
Since his beginnings as a band leader and musical director in his native Pacific Northwest, Deane has played drums with artists such as David Foster, Stevie Wonder, Britney Spears, George Duke, Al Green, Seal, Robbie Williams, Natalie Merchant, Al Jarreau and others, and has performed on video game and trailer titles for APM, Perception Music, Dos Brains, Activision Blizzard, Capcom, Zynga, Bungie Studios, Electronic Arts and Sony Interactive.
At the turn of the millenium, Deane began producing independent artists in the singer/songwriter and adult-oriented rock genre categories. With a nuanced sonic approach as a multi-instrumentalist, Deane's production aesthetic fuses a tight synchronization of organic rhythm elements with lush live orchestration and subtle found tapestries.
As a composer, Ogden’s scores for feature film have included D. Lee Inosanto’s award-winning The Sensei, the acclaimed documentary Dreams On Spec, Lionsgate’s The Way Home, Sony’s The Hit List starring Cuba Gooding Jr., and dozens more. Deane’s music was also featured in Touchstone Pictures’ Bruce Willis blockbuster Surrogates.
Deane's music is used heavily on NBC and CBS primetime network television. From 2002 until 2006, Deane wrote and produced music for ABC Sports’ Emmy Award-winning Monday Night Football and NBC Sports has commissioned his original music for all of its Olympic Games telecasts since 2008. During the run-up to the 2012 US presidential election, Deane’s music featured in both the Republican and Democratic National Convention telecasts.
Deane proudly uses Tama drums and hardware, Sabian cymbals, Remo drumheads, and Vater Percussion drumsticks and mallets.
