We talk about everything, essentially starting EASTERN CHRONICLE from the top and playing it all the way through to the end while recalling personal anecdotes and behind-the-scenes information all along the way.

It was a very cool experience for me because I haven’t reflected much on the collaborative process of all this since we started mixing the album back in November of 2012, so getting to hear everything in sequence again enabled me to recall a lot of the fun I had with my many partners on the project. I told stories of working with MOWETO (“Dhompe Dhompe”; “Jeyda”; “Global Villager”), STEVE OUIMETTE and TINA GUO (“Radio Mumbai”), RICHARD CHANCE (“Jeyda”), BOB REYNOLDS (“For Tohoku”), ANTHONY SALLEE (“Dhompe Dhompe”), JEFF JORDAN (“Firebird”), SCOTT JONES (“Dhompe Dhompe”), ANNMARIE STANISLAUS (“Radio Mumbai”), NUDGI SHANTHEE (“Dhompe Dhompe”; “For Tohoku”), MAI-LIN CHAI (“Girl with Paper Flowers”), and many more.

I’ll warn you — it’s a long interview, clocking in at around an hour and twenty minutes. But if you’ve ever been curious about what it takes to create a full length album working with over 50 soloists and even more backing musicians from all over the world, over a period of two years with recordings taking place somewhere between professional studios, hotel rooms and the streets and villages of Asia… Then this one’s for you!
