Surrogates

The Walt Disney Company invited me to write some additional music for Touchstone Pictures’ sci-fi action pic Surrogates, directed by Jonathan Mostow and featuring a killer score by the brilliant Richard Marvin. My good friend, music editor extraordinaire Scott Stambler, is the person responsible for giving me this opportunity, and through it I’ve met some of the greatest people you can meet in this business. Surrogates stars Bruce Willis and Ving Rhames.

There are several great stories I could share from this fantastic project, but one of the biggest highlights for me was recording on the Sony stage with George Doering. George is the premiere guitarist for music made for movies and is a master technician in all things stringed. You just let him go for it, and what comes out is better than you ever dreamed it would be. Another huge gift from this film is the relationship I now share with my partners at the Walt Disney Company. Disney is a terrific place with amazing creative minds. The friendships forged on Surrogates are some of the best I could ever ask for and are ones I will never forget. I loved every minute of working on this film and have everyone involved to thank for such a wonderful opportunity: Scott Stambler, Monica Zierhut, Rick Marvin, Jonathan Mostow, Tommy Vicari, Vinnie Cirilli, George Doering, Bruce Fowler and the rest of the team—thanks so much for making me feel right at home!
